WundermentOS 22.1 – Released
As mentioned in my previous post the move to the LineageOS 22 as a base for WundermentOS is happening during the January security patch release, which dropped a few days ago. Builds are now complete and being uploaded to the OTA server, you should see them in your updater soon. All currently supported devices continue to be built for 22.1 with no changes expected in the near future.
LineageOS 22
Official LineageOS 22 was released today! As such all supported devices will be upgraded in January to WundermentOS 21.1 (WundermentOS will follow the same numbering convention as LineageOS for QPRs). Build and testing of WundermentOS 22.1 is already underway and no major issues have been found so far. No devices will be deprecated with this release as all existing devices are still supported by their vendors.
Google Pixel 8 Pro Support
Google Pixel 8 Pro builds of WundermentOS will be added as soon as builds resume (see here for more details).
LineageOS 21 – Update
In my previous post, I mentioned the plan was to move to LineageOS 21 during the March security patch release, which has obviously not yet happened. This is because Android 14’s QPR2 release (which includes the security fixes for March) has caused significant issues for the Lineage team. As such, builds of LineageOS are not yet officially updated to QPR2 as of yet. However there is good news as it looks like the officially supported devices by WundermentOS are now buildable. I have completed test builds for both the Pixel 6 and 7 and at this time everything seems stable. The current plan is to wait until LineageOS has officially restarted builds in general to ensure that all of the common components and other parts of LineageOS are up to their standards. Once that is done I’ll release new builds for WundermentOS that will include the April security patches as…
LineageOS 21
Official LineageOS 21 was released today! As such all supported devices will be upgraded next month to WundermentOS 21. This months update will continue with WundermentOS 20 to ensure the stability of the new code and provide time to port over the required changes to the build environments. This work has already been underway and no major issues have been found so far. As all devices except the Pixel 6/7/8 line no longer support a current version of LineageOS or no longer have vendor support, all other devices will be deprecated after this months release as per the Wunderment device retirement policy.
November Update Issues
It appears that some devices may have update issues with the November release, no consistent root cause has been found so far. So far this has only impacted A/B devices (Pixel 5/6/7). The issue occurs after the update, with the device reporting that the system is corrupt. To fix the issue you must manually reapply the update through ADB: If prompted, do not do a factory reset or you will lose your data. As always, it is recommended to backup your data before any update.
Google Pixel 7 Support
Google Pixel 7 builds of WundermentOS will be added during the next monthly patch cycle.
Google Pixel 6 March update released
The boot issue with the March update has been resolved, the OTA release is being deployed to the server as this post is being published.
Google Pixel 6 March update delayed
A boot issue with the March update has been found and will need to be resolved before the update is released. No ETA at this time, as it may be a user build issue with permissions which can be tricky to track down.
Google Pixel 6 Support
With LineageOS now officially supporting the Google Pixel 6, WundermentOS has also added support for it. Builds will be uploaded shortly and you can find the installation guide over here.
